Kimberly M. (Wood) Halota, 58, of Gap, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in Lancaster, PA, as the result of an auto accident. Born in Phoenixville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard F. and Carol (Weaver) Wood. Octorara graduating class of 1983.
Kim was employed by Parkesburg Walmart for the past twenty years. She was a dedicated hardworking woman with an infectious smile and laugh.
She prided herself in helping others. Kim always made sure the needs of others superseded her own. Her love and devotion to her family did not go unnoticed. Her greatest joy was her children and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Ashley Simes of Ephrata, PA, Allison Halota of Gap, and Patrick (Brittany) Halota of Chapin, SC, her seven grandchildren (Aiden, Azlyn, Joshua, Johnathon, Evelyn, Raelyn, Ada) and siblings, Bonnie (John) Good, Kelly (Bruce) Jones, Amy Bless, Adam Wood, Aaron Wood ,and Alexandra (Todd) Wood.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA. Food and refreshments to follow. Kim touched many people with her loving warmth and her caring nature. That is evidenced by her family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances. It’s a testament of who she was. When she loved someone, she loved them hard. She was a caring mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed. Her legacy will last and her memory will never be forgotten.

Kim Halota was a special person!
I taught Ashley, Allison and Patrick Kindergarten at the Crooked Billet Elementary School. They were wonderful children with a wonderful mother. Kim was my homeroom mother but also my friend. She made me feel so good and everyone else too! I was so sad when I heard she passed away. I am sending blessings to Ashley, Allison and Patrick on the loss of your mother.
