Lewis J. Ammon Jr., 72, of Morgantown, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 9, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Carole Ann (Dean) Ammon with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, PA, June 6, 1953 he was the son of the late Lewis J Ammon Sr. and Doris (Echoff) Ammon.
Lewis graduated from Coatesville High School in 1972. During his senior year of high school, he proudly served as football captain, earning the Lineman of the Year Award and being recognized as Sportswriters All Ches-mont Honorable Mention.
He worked at the former Lukens Steel, Franciscus Roofing, Cavan Construction and once retired he worked at Little Chef, PJs of New Holland, and Jerry’s Pizza Pie where everyone knew him as Bubba. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially his yearly hunting trips to Maine, along with his fishing trips and deep sea fishing. He loved relaxing with his loved ones while watching family feud, football and occasionally going to the casino. He was a devoted husband, father, pop-pop, and great-pop-pop. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Also, he was a member of the Northern Lancaster Beagle Club where he enjoyed running his dogs and attending beagle trials.
Besides his wife he is survived by his 5 daughters, Amy (Ron) Shindle, Jayme Ammon, Julie (Bruce) Cross, Samantha (Cesar) Galarza, and Kadie Ammon all of Coatesville, 17 grandchildren, Kayla, Sonney, Alissa, Allison, Samuel, Jacob, Damon, Cesar, Cody, Gracie, Santino, Jayda, Kingston, Armando, Gulianna, Mariah, and Kaylani. 9 great-grandchildren, Faith, Paisley, Remi, Josiah, Analise, Aviana, Sila, Nellie, and Bryer. All of whom he loved very much. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Shirley Morris of New Holland, PA., Brother in-law Jeffrey (Deborah) Dean Sr.; Many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Kulinich.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA. Visitation will be held Monday evening June 16, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Upper Octorara Cemetery in Parkesburg.
