James Walter Gallagher III

James "Jim" Walter Gallagher III, 72, of Cochranville, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Born in Kansas City, MO, he was the son of the late James W. Jr. and Grace Irene (Burleigh) Gallagher.

Jim grew up in Upper Darby, PA, graduated from Shippensburg University and worked as a finance officer for various nursing homes. He was a Revolutionary War reenactor and participated in General Washington's Christmas Day crossing of the Delaware River. He loved baseball and was an avid Phillies baseball fan.

He is survived by his children, James (Carla) Gallagher IV of West Grove, PA; Cathy (Mike) Palazzo of Raleigh, NC; Shelby Gallagher of Los Angeles, CA; and Corey Gallagher of Hatboro, PA; four grandchildren: Hailey, James, Annabelle, Evie; a sister, Kathleen Hutton of Cochranville, a niece Jenny Krikstan and a nephew Doug (Jeanne) Hutton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea Gallagher.

A visit with the family and sharing of memories will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Little League.
