Judith E. Thomas Cowperthwaite, 82, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away at her home on Monday, May 23, 2022.  She was the wife of the late George F. Cowperthwaite Jr. who passed away in 2019.  Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Dr. John W. and Roberta Shade Thomas.  

 She graduated from Radnor High School and in 1961 from Eastern Baptist College. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Chester County Intermediate Unit and as an office manager for Brandywine Valley Fabricators.  She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Parkesburg.

 She is survived by her children, Thomas (Lynn) Cowperthwaite of Caln, Dorothy (and the late Robert) Butler of Terrell, TX, Timothy (Alicia) Cowperthwaite of East Fallowfield, and Patricia (Clarke) Staus of Kimberton.  Grandchildren, Samantha (Travis) Hanson of Indiana, Phylicia Cowperthwaite of Indiana, Zachary (Anastasia) Cowperthwaite of PA,  Robert "Bobby" Butler of Texas, Kyleigh Cowperthwaite, Cannon Cowperthwaite, and Josh Staus, all of PA.  Great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jaxon, Willow and Charles, all of Elverson and brother, Dr. John S. (Alma) Thomas of Malvern, and a stepsister, Jerri Lee (Ed) Pickard.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert M. Thomas.  Honorary children, Ken and Judy Baker, Honorary grandchildren, Stephanie Price, Emma Baker, Katie Baker and Ellie Baker.

 Funeral services will be held at Highland Baptist Church, 1 E. Highland Rd., Parkesburg, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Service at 11:00a.m.  Luncheon will be held at Highland Baptist Church with interment at East Brandywine Baptist Church Cemetery in Downingtown, following the luncheon.
