Joan Marie Beecher

Joan Marie Beecher, affectionately known as Joanie, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 28, 1943, at Coatesville Hospital, Joan was a beacon of light, always kind and caring, touching the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Joan graduated from Scott High School in 1961, marking the beginning of an unforgettable journey. After a brief stint at Woolworths, she devoted much of her professional life to serving veterans, starting her career at the Coatesville VA in November 1961. For 20 years, she cared deeply for those who served, before relocating to Arizona and continuing her commitment at a VA Hospital for an additional 17 and a half years. After a fulfilling career, she retired in December 1998, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication.

Throughout her life, Joanie created cherished memories with her family, relishing vacations and the simple pleasures of sitting together, reminiscing about their shared past. Her warmth extended to all of her nieces and nephews, whom she loved as if they were her own. Joan enjoyed playing on the VA Bowling League and had a fondness for Cape May, the color purple, and the joy of pampering herself with hair and makeup. She particularly loved panda bears and Saguaro cacti.

Joan was warm-hearted, her sense of humor infectious, and her meticulous nature was evident in her habit of writing everything down, ensuring that no precious moment was lost in time. Her marriage to Vernon Edward Beecher began in May of 1964, and ended in December of 1983. A few years later, she found love again with David Green, who became her lifetime partner and shared her journey through life's ups and downs.

Joan leaves behind a loving family, including her brother Glen Warren Sr. (Dottie), and brother Gary Warren Sr., as well as her cherished nephews Glen Warren Jr., Steven Warren, Timothy Warren, Gary Warren Jr. and her nieces Beth Mulhollan and Rachel Warren. She also has many great nephews and great nieces who will carry her loving spirit with them.

Joan is preceded in death by her mother, Anna Edna Warren (maiden name: Henderson), her stepfather, Lloyd Chamberlain Warren, her father, Roy E. Porter, and her dear lifetime partner, David Green. Her memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her, her legacy of love and laughter casting a warm glow on all who remember her.

As we celebrate the beautiful life of Joan Marie Beecher, let us honor her by reflecting on the kindness she showed to others and the endless love she shared with her family. Though she may be gone, her spirit will continue to inspire those she touched.
