Moses John George


Moses John George, 92, of Gap passed away at his home on Monday, April 25, 2022. Born in Houtzdale PA he was the son of the late John George and Sophia (Simon) George. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Jean George who passed in 2018 , married 67 years.
Following his high school graduation, Moses honorably served our nation 7yrs in the United States Air Force. He later worked as a machinist for LNP Engineering until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member for over 50 years of the New Holland Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He will be remembered as a quiet, dedicated, and hard worker. He was an avid bowler and competitive (Golden Gloves) boxer in his youth. As well as a avid motorcycle rider.
He is survived by five children; Douglas George, John George and wife Cheryl, Jeannie Campbell and husband John of Florida, Joanne Lebo and husband Tim of Tower City, William George and wife Melanie and son-in-law and live in care taker Chris Gredzinski. Additionally, he is survived by 11 grandchildren; Johnny, Mandy, Naomi, Sean, Krysta, Nicholas, Brandon, Trevor, Sophia, Steven, and Austin, and also by 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children; Sheila Gredzinski and Cheryl George, and also by six siblings; Rich, Dave, Sammy, Bill, Helen (Zane), and Selma (Sally).
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA 19365. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period taking place from 12 PM until the start of the service.
