Alan F. Windle, 80, of Cochranville, went to be in the arms of Jesus on November 27th. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Propst Windle.


He is survived by his wife Lillian Hadley Windle, daughter, Judy Mattick, wife of Richard, sons, Edward Windle, husband of Diane, and Barry Windle, husband of September; stepchildren, Charles Hadley and Lynn Althouse; brother John Windle of Christiana; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, who all loved him very much.


He was predeceased by siblings, Edward and Donald Windle and Louise McCarter.


He faithfully attended and was very active in Cochranville United Methodist Church. He graduated from Scott Senior High School in 1947. He retired from Coke, Inc. as a Maintenance Supervisor.


He was a member of the Golden Age Club and the Parkesburg Senior Citizens, as well as the Gideons International.


The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 30th, at 2:30 p.m. at the Cochranville Methodist Church, 92 Church Dr., Cochranville, Pa. 19330, followed by interment in the Friendship United Methodist Cemetery in Gum Tree. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the Church from 12:30 until 2:30 PM.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alan's memory to the Cochranville Methodist Church, P.O. Box 417, Cochranville, Pa. 19330.

I would like to take a moment and send my condolences to the family. I worked with Al at Coin Caterers for several years. I was very saddened by the passing of such a kind hearted person. My thoughts are with the family at this time.

Judy, we are so sorry for your loss but rejoice in knowing your dad is with Jesus and no longer suffering. What a blessing to know with confidence that your dad is HOME! If you need anything please let us know meanwhile feel strength from the prayers being said for you and your family during this time.
