Dear Joey,

Please let Aileen’s YMCA friends and family know how much we really appreciate all you did for her. Yes, she was a remarkable woman, wife, mommy, daughter, sister, etc. It was amazing to see so many people from the “Y” on Monday, 2-8-10. She enjoyed going to work. It kept her minds off things and kept her sane during her battle. I admire her strength for getting up and going to work everyday. We miss her, too! She was so brave and beautiful. I am so glad you got to know my only sister and call her friend. She is my hero!!!

I am so sorry to learn of Aileen's passing. She was a remarkable woman who always remained positive regardless of the challenges she faced. I shared many discussions with Aileen about children and the joy they bring to our lives. She spoke of Callan often. I hope Callan knows how Aileen's face would light up everytime she spoke of her.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time.

Brian and Melanie--
We are so sorry to hear about Aileen. We have been saying a prayer for her recovery every week since you told us about her illness on our trip together; unfortunately, this time the prayers were not answered.

Please relay our sympathy and sadness to Nathan, Callan and Laura. May the Almighty comfort you all.

Indeed as parents, we prayed for that same miracle. Instead of a cure,
we realized the miracle of Aileen's life, family and outstanding siblings and cousins. In that, our prayers were answered.

Dear Carol,

My family and I thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Aileen is so brave and beautiful. She fought until the end. She was amazing because she tried to protect us all throughout her battle. Aileen has an 8 year old daughter, Callan. Callan is a smart and beautiful little girl. She takes after her Mommy. I was in charge of the photo boards for the funeral. It brought back wonderful memories of high school. Aileen was a year younger but she hung out with us, went to one of our proms, etc.

Thanks again for the email. It was great to hear from you. As you know, Aileen was my only sister, my best friend and Callan's Mommy. I miss her terribly already!

Fondly, Laura (Callahan) Thomas & Family

Dear Brian and Melanie,

What can you say to a friend who has lost a part of themselves. Certainly that your loss is also my loss as. I can but offer you my sincere condolences.

God has his reasons, God has his plans. There are times we don't understand and must submit to and accept that which he has designed.

It is a time of sorrow for those of us left behind as we must cope with her beautiful presence not being here for us to hug and to give us visual pleasure. For Aileen, it is a time of joy for she is now with her God. Her spiritual entity has moved on. Her physical joys and tribulations she has left with us in this world. Her entity will welcome each and everyone of us as we too join our maker. We will be one again.

May God grant each of us the fortitude to accept the passing of your daughter Aileen and the joy to know that she is now with our God. We say our good-by waiting once again to say our hello.

Aileen will be in my prayers, now and always.

I am so sorry.

Callan and Nathan, this note says so much about your Mom and Wife . . .

"Growing up next door to you guys, I've always wanted an older sister. In elementary, middle through high school, I looked up to Aileen who taught me how to curl and feather my hair and even put on make-up. I remember I'd watch her get ready to go out with her friends and on dates and wished I could be older and do the same. I always thought she was so cool and wanted to be like her.
I wanted to go up to Nathan and Callan to offer my condolences, but didn't know what to say beyond "I'm sorry." I wanted to tell Callan that I thought her mother was the coolest person ever when I was a kid.
My family really lucked out having your family as our neighbors. Your parents were always nice and friendly to our family your dad helped out with the lawn work when my mom became a widow.
I've always viewed your parents as second parents. Through the years, I've been so busy with teaching and raising 2 small children that I lost touch with your parents. Your mom always remembered our wedding anniversary and would send us cards and holiday cards. She's very sweet and thoughtful.
I'm sorry to see your family go through this hard and painful time and wish that I could offer more consolation.
Next time we're in the Cinnaminson area, we will contact your parents to see if we can drop by and visit. Your parents haven't met our > youngest daughter.
Take care and be safe on the roads to visit Nathan and Callan."

My heart goes out to you and your family on the passing of your daughter. I did not have the privilege of your daughter's acquaintance but as a parent it brings tears to my eyes. Our children are most precious to us all and their loss the most difficult to sustain. While the loss is deep and agonizingly painful, we cherish those many memories that they have given us and in so doing they remain with us. It is these memories that sustain us and allow us to smile with them as we relive them each and every day.

With a heavy heart and comforting memories, Jim

Your thoughts are most welcome and supportive. I can recall your
visit to Delaware's OIS from Top Gallant Road in CT . . .
a pleasant surprise and memory. Grateful for that memory and
those earlier.
