She always loved being around her daughter and grandchildren, seeing them everyday and not missing a beat.
Charlotte ‘Chottie’ Miller went home on Saturday, October 24th, 2026 at home peacefully. She was born on November 26, 1951 and resided all of her life in Parkesburg, PA. She was the daughter of late Clara V. Harris ‘Tilt’ & William ‘June’ Harris Jr.
Even though her name was Charlotte, everyone knew her as “Chottie”. She was a widow for 18 years, and the beloved wife of Gary “Doc” Miller. They were high school sweethearts and cherished their time together, so whenever you saw one, you saw the other. The true definition of love.
Chottie always had a love for kids. She worked at multiple daycares, babysat for family, and even sold freeze pops to the neighborhood kids. She was a singer in the family band called ‘The Soul Crusaders’, her beautiful voice rang out at family ‘hoedowns’ and events. She also loved to fish, her and Gary stayed at Muddy Run just to come home that night and cook ‘hot fish sammiches’. She was very crafty, and loved to give people things whether it was clothes, or food. She always loved being around her daughter and grandchildren, seeing them everyday and not missing a beat. She was definitely one of a kind. ‘Miss Chottie’ will be sadly missed but never forgotten, and forever in our hearts.
She has one surviving daughter, Tara A. Harris, & son-in-law Gregory D. Miller, two granddaughters Tamara C. Harris, and Teonna L. Harris, 3 great grandchildren: Davionna, Karter & Ke’air, 4 siblings Beverly Harclerode (deceased), Bonnie Dickinson & James ‘Jimmy’ Dickinson, Regina Purcell, Tyrone “Tidy” & Paula Harris, many nieces, nephews, and family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6th, 2026, at Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, PA 19365. Visitation will take place from 9:00AM to 11:00AM, followed by the funeral service. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, 512 Zion Hill Rd, Atglen, PA 19310
