Coatesville

James Bensinger, 81, of Coatesville, better known as "Sonny", left the confines of this earth on the 4th of July surrounded in love by his family and with a slight smile after listening to his favorite hymns.

He is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Sandra, who he affectionately called "Duck" and by his four children, Wendy Taggart, James Jr., husband of Dawn, Dana Houston, wife of Tony, and Brian, husband of Mariah.  He'll be missed by his five grandchildren, Jason Bensinger, Ryan Taggart, Megan Taggart, Mallory King and Katie Helm, and six great-grandchildren.  He leaves behind his sister, Lana Swisher, and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua, and by his beloved Black Lab, "Rebel".

Sonny was the son of Arthur and Hazel Arnold Bensinger, and was known for his love of working in his yard and for all of nature and the outdoors.

He attended Hibernia Methodist Church and worked at Milprint / Reynolds for most of his life being lucky enough to retire at 62.  He was a rock to his family and it could not be possible to be a better husband, father or grandfather.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, Sonny's funeral will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.  Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

Condolences

To all the family, Mr. B will be missed by all. I'll never replace him as the most patient "beanbag" partner. He'd make all the points, and keep encouraging me, through some of the longest games on record! I'm gonna practice up and be ready, when we meet again! ❤️

Jim was a good friend and neighbor. On Sunday mornings Sandy and Jim sat in the back pew at Hibernia Church. Before church started we talked about the deer and turkeys we saw or didn't see during the week. He will be missed. Our prayers are with your family.

So sorry of hear of Jim's passing.  I knew Jim and Sandy from attending Hibernia Church and they both were behind me at Scott Sr High.  Jim will be missed by all the people at church and I know Jim and Sandy used to love walking in Hibernia Park.  It is a lovely place to walk and know they loved it as I did.  He will be missed very much.  He was always so nice and pleasant at  times I got to talk to he and Sandy at church.  Live in another state so just up there on weekends while my mother was living and would enjoy talking to them.
