Virginia G. Bush, 90, of Ephrata, went home to her Lord on Monday, November 2, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Bush, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
Born on January 16, 1936, in Fig, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James and Selma (Johnson) Graybeal. She was a graduate of West Fallowfield High School. Virginia was a resident of Cochranville and Atglen for most of her life before moving to an apartment at Fairmount Homes nearly five years ago.
She is survived by her children: Beverly de la Cuetara; Thomas Bush, husband of the late Jody; Curtis Bush and his wife, Paula; and Andrea Reever and her husband, Michael. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Stephanie Bush; Daniel Bush and his wife, Danielle, and their two sons, Lukas and Jacob; Peter Bush and his wife, Rebecca, and their daughter, Clara; and Amber McCormick and her husband, Jarod.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her sisters, Mary McCormick and Dorothy Sensenig.
Virginia lived a life marked by hard work, talent, and service to others. Throughout the years, she developed many skills and took on a variety of responsibilities. An accomplished seamstress, she generously shared her knowledge by teaching sewing classes through the Pennsylvania Extension Office and serving as a 4-H leader. In her later years, she continued her sewing, creating dozens of items to donate to local charitable organizations.
Her working years included serving as a Crop Reporting Supervisor for the Penn State Agricultural Service. She also worked as a bus driver for the Octorara School District, a real estate salesperson for Hostetter Realty, and a driver for her Amish neighbors.
Virginia enjoyed many hobbies and interests. She volunteered at the West Fallowfield election polls and was a lifelong music lover. She sang in her church choirs and played both piano and organ. While living at Fairmount, she occasionally hosted recitals and sing-alongs for her neighbors. After retiring, she continued her service to others by volunteering at the White Horse Thrift Shoppe.
She was an avid crocheter, making dozens of beautiful Navajo-pattern afghans for family and friends. Virginia and Robert enjoyed traveling together, visiting Tenerife, Switzerland, and Alaska, as well as making several trips to Florida and North Carolina. She also enjoyed working on puzzles and could often be found putting one together.
Perhaps her greatest joy, however, was tending to her beloved roses and flowers. She maintained beautiful flower beds at her home in Atglen and continued her gardening passion even after moving to Fairmount.
Virginia's life was one of dedication, hard work, and genuine care for others. Her many talents, generous spirit, and love for her family and community touched the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
