Kathleen Marie Przychodzien, 71, of Sadsburyville, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of S. A. "Tony" Przychodzien with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Edward Perley and Josephine DiBerardinis Perley.

Kathy was an area resident all her life and a 1968 graduate of Bishop Shannon Catholic School. As a parishioner at St. Peters Catholic Church, she helped develop the Cancer Support Group at the church which helps members and their caregivers going through cancer. Kathy spent over 20 years as a volunteer for Reach for Recovery helping ladies that were diagnosed with breast cancer guiding them through treatment and recovery.

Kathy was also active with the Relay for Life of Central Chester Co.; with Survivor Dinner and the Live Your Best Tent.

She has received the following awards; 2015 Volunteer Achievement Award Greater Philadelphia Area Eastern Division, the 2017 Courage Award (Who fought a personal battle with cancer and serves as an inspiration to others) and the 2018 Dr. Gordy Klatt Memorial Award.

Kathy enjoyed attending her granddaughter and grandson's sporting events and activities. Also spending vacations at the shore in Ventnor, NJ with the family coming and going which included Thursday nights on the Boardwalk buying everyone what they wanted.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by one son; Anthony "Chip" Przychodzien and wife Stephanie, two grandchildren; Dana and Kyle Przychodzien, step-grandchildren; Zach, Connor and Alexia Sylvester, one brother Edward Perley, two sisters; Joanne Parrott and husband Ronald and Patricia Heron and husband Phil, six nieces and nephews; Kelly (Joe) Quintiliani, Rachel Heron and Mark Kokoska, Laura (Chris) Kearney, Anna Parrott, Sean (Rachel) Heron and Tricia Parrott, seven great nieces and nephews; Joseph, Rosie and Gabriel Quintiliani, Liam and Summer Kearney, and Dylan and Sam Heron,  her devoted brother-in-law John Przychodzien, and her aunt, Frances Brouse.

My condolences to you, Tony and  to your lovely family in the loss of Kathy. Such a brave woman, a woman of faith and someone we always want to be like. Tony, we met  in NewYork when the book many were involved in "I am not my Breast Cancer"  published by Ruth A Peltason in 2008. The whole group became great friends with weekly live chats and later 10 of us  stayed very close via email. Sometimes even daily! We had all sent a Happy Birthday to Kathy just yesterday (Aug 1)  on her birthday!

May God have mercy on Kathy's soul. Kathy will always be in my heart!

I am so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. She was a wonderful addition to our chat group. I also had the good fortune of meeting her [ I think possibly Tony as well] in NJ where we stayed for the book party. My heart is with you during this difficult time.

Kathy is loved, appreciated, and respected by all the members of the Cancer Support Group. She lead our group with Courage, Support, Hope, Laughter, Friendship, and Faith. As she was struggling with her own health issues she was still uplifting to all of us. A great role model. Her passion and kindness to help others will never be forgotten. She holds a place in our hearts forever.

Dear Tony and Family,

I am so very sorry for your loss of the person who obviously was the keystone of your family. Kathy was so much to so many people. I am honored to have known her these past twenty years. We met at "Curves" and she soon invited me to Relay for Life and got me "hooked"! Between the general committee and the Survivors Committee, Kathy kept me busy. She also introduced me to the ABC support group. Kathy was so much to so many people; she gave tirelessly of her time and paid such careful attention to all the details and behind the scenes activities of her volunteer work. She was an amazingingly strong woman who will be missed by many.

Sending hugs and prayers,

Joanne Trombley
