62 Years
Gap, Pennsylvania

Michael Carmen Vergara, 62 of Gap, PA went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2023.  He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 38 years of marriage, Terry Jean (Mann) Vergara. Born in Coatesville, PA he was the son of the late Martin and Rose (Donia) Vergara.

Michael graduated from Cash Senior High School in 1978. He was employed with Urban Outfitters of Gap where he was recognized for many achievements and numerous awards for his outstanding work ethic and performance.

Mike will always be remembered for his love of playing his guitar and making music.  If he wasn't at work he would be in his trusty prayer chair playing his guitar, trying to find that "perfect sound".  He enjoyed nature including hiking, bird watching, and walks in the park with his best friend, and wife Terry. Mike always cherished watching horse racing, the Phillies, and the 76ers with his son Michael and witnessing the unthinkable, watching the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl.  He was a very hard worker, which we admired about him.

Mike was a generous, good-hearted man. He always had faith in God and wanted people to know God’s love for them. Family and friends will remember his warm smile, contagious laugh, and humor. He hoped to retire and visit America's National Parks, especially his favorite, Yellow Stone National Park.

Mike will always be remembered and sadly missed by his wife Terry and son Michael.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael Andrew Vergara, and girlfriend Joanne Yeager of Denver, Pa. He is also survived by his sisters, Theresa Goodyear, Rosie Goodyear, and Cathy Vergara; his brothers, Marty Vergara, Nick Vergara and wife Fran, Vincent Vergara and wife Jeannie, Brother in law Pat Langan. Uncle Mike will also be sadly missed by all of his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Millie Langan, brother-in-laws Bob Goodyear and John Goodyear.

Interment services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

I am so very sorry for your loss. Your family has gone through so much!! Unfortunately, I know how painful this is for all of you. My prayers are with you, his wife and his son. He was too young to leave this earth so soon.

I have the most wonderful memories of all of us growing up together. I’m glad that we lived next door. God bless you all and give you his strength during this time.
