Francis L. Lambert, 74, fondly known as Tom by family and friends of Parkesburg, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 26,2023. He was the husband of Deborah Ann Thompson- Lambert who he met on April Fool’s Day of 1979 and married on October 27, 1979, sharing 43 years of marriage. Born at the Old Coatesville Hospital to the late Francis H. and Lena M. (Wilkerson) Lambert.

Francis was an area resident all his life and a 1967 graduate of the Horace C. Scott High School of Coatesville. In 1968 he walked across the street to get the mail and received a draft letter. The heading stated, “Your friends and neighbors recommended you.” When around other Veterans he’d joke, “I’d like to meet those friends and neighbors.” He served in the United States Army honorably from 1968 to 1971 during the Vietnam Conflict.

Francis was a hard worker, learning young while working with his father and brothers on cars or in what his father called a garden, but he called a field. He was employed as a welder/heavy machine operator with the former Luria Bros, Heckett Multi-Service. He was called many times late night to come in and run “Big Red.” Francis was best at placing railroad cars and one of few who could put a railroad engine back on tracks. Retiring after 35 years of service, he also worked 10 years at the old Coatesville Hospital.

Francis loved what we would call classic cars but to him simply cars he grew up watching, riding, and working on; but he especially loved his 1963 Impala. He loved watching old war movies, tv shows he grew up on, and many others.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his children Kristopher J. Thompson, of Parkesburg, PA, Tomas F. and wife Tara of Honey Brook, PA, the Twins Tiffany R. and husband Dale E. Gadsden II of Lancaster, PA, and Timothe R. Lambert of Atglen, PA. 10 grandchildren: Nyja, Dante, Sierra, Jakai, Kaliyah, Sanyah, Dmitri, Dalilah, Elliana and Olivia. One great grandchild Zela (Sierra), six siblings: James A. Lambert of Ercildoun, PA, Mary Jane Poe of Wilmington, DE, Chester C. Sr. husband of Doris Lambert of Toughkenamon, PA, Eleanor Lambert of Ercildoun, PA, Evelyn L. Lambert of Ercildoun, PA and Dr. Deborah Ann, wife of Isiah Johnson Jr. of Willingboro, NJ. Three in-laws: James N. (Annabelle) Thompson Sr. of Yeadon, PA, Dennis S. Thompson Sr. of Wilmington, DE, and Darlene R (Melvin) Perry of Baltimore, MD.
