William Thomas Martin, Jr., 78, of Parkesburg, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late William Thomas Martin Sr. and Edith Naomi (Bernard). He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce Jean (Phillips) Martin with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

William was a 1961 graduate of Coatesville Area Senior High School and went on to become the founder and owner of Coatesville Auto Body until retirement.

He was a member of Wagontown Union Chapel, serving for a time as a deacon.

William is survived by two children; Shelly DeVoe and husband Darren, and Robin Cooke and husband Aaron; four grandchildren, Shane DeVoe, Chelsea Fritz and husband Taylor, Tyler DeVoe and wife Rebecca "Becky", and Breanna DeVoe; four great-grandchildren, Fennec, Meadow, William, and another on the way.

In addition, he is survived by three siblings: Clarence Martin and wife Carol, Naomi Taylor and husband Jay, and Betty Ann Pittman, widow of the late Vernon Pittman. William was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Martin (1971).

"Pop", as he was known to his family, or "Bill," as he was known to most everyone else, loved his Corvettes and enjoyed them from his first 1962 Corvette to the ones that he restored over the years. He had many interests, including hunting, fishing on his boat, fly-tying with his grandsons, camping, snowmobiling, photography, travel, woodworking, cooking, bicycling on the rails-to-trails with Joyce, and enjoying the outdoors. Bill and his family made many happy memories vacationing in the mountain cabin he designed and built by hand. He was a dedicated family man and was well-respected in the community. Bill will always be known as a quiet, thoughtful man who made an impact on so many in both his personal and professional life. He was the best husband, Dad, and Pop ever, and will be greatly missed.
