Alger Joseph Heaps, Jr., 60, of Honey Brook, PA passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the Jennersville Regional Hospital, West Grove, PA. He was the beloved husband of Tammy Rodgers Heaps with whom he shared 37 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Alger J. Heaps, Sr. and Beverly Helms Heaps Barber.

Alger was an area resident all his life and a 1978 graduate of the Coatesvillle Area High School. He proudly served in the US Army from 1978 to 1980 as a Combat Engineer.  He was employed with the Rover Community Service as a driver and he formerly was employed by Gritz Pools.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two daughters; Tara Heaps and fiancé Allan and Amanda Heaps and fiancé Harvey and four grandchildren; Isabella, Nashota, Harvey III and Savannah all of Honey Brook and five siblings; Evelyn Eason of Florida, Jane Abel of Pomeroy, Bill Heaps of Florida, Joe Heaps and wife Debra of Coatesville and Woodrow Heaps and wife Holly of Coatesville.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening, September 1, 2020 at 7:00 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.

In order to protect those at-risk, please wear a face mask and practice social distancing at the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory directly to the Wilde Funeral Home at the above address to help the family defray their funeral expenses.

I cant begin to think of what you guys are going thru. I feel like dad/al was called home to be with jesus his time on earth was done. I loved seeing videos and pictures of him on Facebook thru his daughter tara. Such a kind soul gone way to soon. May he rest high on the mountain with jesus and rejoice with all his loved ones who passed before him. Tara I love u aj and the girls very much my prayers are with you. Rest easy al. We love u
