William Parke "Tug" Ogden, 75, of West Brandywine, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Brandywine Hospital. He was the widow of Linda Ogden, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Catherine (Softchin) and Harold Ogden. He attended Octorara High School, and was self-employed as a plumber. Tug had recently been working part-time with Handicrafters.
He was a longtime member of Hibernia United Methodist Church. He was an active member of Sgt. Jones Bradbury Camp #149, Dept of Pa., Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. He was also a member of the Brandywine-Goddard Lodge No. 383 F.&A.M.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kerri Ogden Dunlap, wife of Richard, of Coatesville; and his granddaughter, Sarah Dunlap. He was predeceased by his wife, son, Brent Ogden, and his sister, Beverly Ely. He was also predeceased by his dear friend of several years, Greta Wiggins.
A celebration of Tug's life will take place on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, Pa. with Pastor Mark Beideman officiating. The viewing will be from 9:30 until 11 AM. Interment will take place at Hibernia Methodist Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Indian Mobile Mission, Box 838, Snowflake, AZ 85937.

Will remember Uncle Tug
I was lucky enought to meet Bill on a fishing trip to Alaska, arranged by Pat Ely. "Uncle Tug" was a great guy and we had a good time together. Every airport we went through he would be passed right along by the screeners, while the rest of us usually ended up being patted down. His gentle character must have shown through. I tried my best to educate him on the Civil War but he had a little more insight than me. He was fun to be around, if only for a week.

We are all at a great loss with your passing. You were there to comfort all of us with mom mom linda and then dad's passing. No one could ever lift hopes and feelings as you could. I remember trips to the mountains hunting as we spotted for deer and my hand would get cold. I remember all the great family outings and picnics at your house. These are only a fraction of memories and you will be greatly missed. Tell dad and mom mom linda I said all is well and I miss them. You all would of loved to meet Kelly. Aunt kerry,sarah and uncle rich you are all in my thoughts and prayers. It is a grave loss and I'm sorry.

I knew Bill from delivering to my employment. He was a great guy and always in great spirits when he stopped in. I enjoyed the time we spent talking. He will be missed. RIP friend
