Liz and family,

I never met your daughter but cared about and prayed for Lauren and you Liz, her mom. It is so hard to understand why we have to experience hard times in our lives. God never said our lives would be easy but He promised to be there in all walks of life. He promised unbelievable blessings and joy in what He has prepared for us after this life is done.

Love you, LIz

It is not unusual to grieve the loss of a person we love because of all that we lose ourselves, but with Laurens passing, I grieve on behalf of the world. I selfishly mourn my inability to go to lunch with her, but I also know the amazing things she could have done for others if she were still with us today. I will miss her beautiful smile, that quirky laugh, her quick wit, and decadent candor all the days of my life...but I am so grateful for the time God gave me with her, to know her spirit and earn her trust, to hear her truth, struggles and victories as she walked through this life. To say I will miss her is an understatement. She was a phenomenal young lady, a beautiful friend and a brilliant mind. May God bless you and keep you Lauren Sullivan until we meet again...I love you very much!

My deepest felt condolences to all of Lauren's family and loved ones.
Lauren was I think the first friend I made when I moved to Philly 11 years ago. We lost touch several years ago but I think a part of me always just assumed we'd run into each other again someday. I will always be touched and affected by the time she was in my life. She was truly a unique person who was no one but herself in such a refreshing and admirable way. A special memory that comes to mind for me was when she and I decided on the spur of the moment to drive down to the shore in Delaware for my birthday so that we could be on the beach as the sun rose...I remember sitting there watching a school of dolphins in the distance in the dawn light, the first time I'd ever seen dolphins in the wild. Her imprint on my life will never be forgotten. My heart aches for her passing. I hope for comfort and peace for her family in their profound loss that words surely cannot express.

Kristan,

Now that you mention that story I distinctlly remember Lauren telling me about the trip and what a cool time it was. Back then my first thought was that you guys were crazy taking off the way you did, but that was truly Lauren being Lauren, and something that young people do or should do. I'm so glad you each had someone to share that experience. Thank you for bringing back a memory that I had forgotten and for your touching thoughts. We wish you well.
