Judy Cazillo

Judy Cazillo, wife of Anthony (Tony) Cazillo of Parkesburg, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior, after a long battle with cancer. She passed away December 5, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family and staff of Willow Tree Hospice. 

Judy was born September 28, 1946, in West Chester, PA, to Panfilo DiFonzo and Mary Josephine D' Antonio DiFonzo.

She graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School, Class of 1964. While there, Judy greatly enjoyed playing clarinet in the band. She also worked after school at Giunta's Drug Store in Downingtown.

After high school Judy was employed by Villa Saint John, a care home for elderly priests. It was during this time she began to sense God calling her into nursing. Judy was able to pursue this path in the mid-1960s at The Chester County Hospital School of Nursing with advanced nursing studies at Duke University, Durham, N.C.

Before going to N.C., Judy had begun writing letters to Tony, as a result of his name & address being published in the school newsletter. Tony being a 1963 Bishop Shanahan graduate serving in the Army at Fort Hood, Texas.

They continued corresponding by mail while Judy was a nurse at the Valley Forge Army Hospital. Judy met Tony for the first time in person in August 1966. They corresponded regularly for the following year.

After completing her courses at Duke in June of 1967 she took her first trip by air to Ft. Hood to visit Tony" While there she did not enjoy the 110 degree summer, but did enjoy riding on a motorcycle for the first time and meeting some of Tony's co-workers in the mess hall.

Upon returning home to Downingtown, she continued work at Valley Forge Army Hospital until the couple moved to Parkesburg in early 1969.

During the years of 1969-1971 Judy gave birth to a daughter, Bernadette, and a son, Anthony Francis Cazillo Jr. whom they called Frank.

Being a wife and mother, and later on a grandmother was the highlight of her life, along with helping others as a nurse. Judy worked part-time, while raising her family, at Harrison House in Christiana, PA; Chatham Acres Nursing Home, and Harrison House in Coatesville, PA in addition to being a Visiting Nurse for several agencies" She always had a special place in her heart for the elderly"

In her years here, Judy faithfully served the Lord and hen family and actively volunteered at her children's school as Playground Aide. She also served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts.

Judy valued voting and American freedom. For many years, she attended the March for Life in West Chester and made several trips to the March for Life in Washington D.C.

Judy has now gone to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. After being saved and baptized as an adult , she began to know the Lord in a different way. Judy said at baptism, " The Lord put His seal on me and transformed my life." Her greatest desire was for all her family and friends to come to know,Jesus and be baptized.

In addition to her husband she is survived by daughter Bernadette Cazillo Misero (Kyle), of Coatesville; Son, Frank Cazillo (Susan), of Willow Street; Supportive Grandson David Cazillo-Urbine, of Parkesburg; and Granddaughters Hannah Hersh (Ben), Veronica Ventresca (Nick) of Lancaster and Angela Misero of Coatesville, and Great Granddaughter's Ariel & Evolet Hersh of Lancaster. She was predeceased by her grandson Anthony F.Cazillo lll, of Lancaster, in 2021.

Judy is also survived by siblings, Frank DiFonzo (Sharon) of Exton; Anthony DiFonzo (Donna) of Downingtown; Paula Bralla (Casey) of West Grove; and Dr. Nicholas DiFonzo (Margaret) of West Henrietta, NY; and a host of much-loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023 at Towerville Christian Church, 10 Hannum Drive, Coatesville, PA, 19320.

Viewings will be held Tuesday evening, December 12th from 6pm to 8pm at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA, and on Wednesday morning, December 13, 10 am to 11 am at Towerville Christian Church.
