Joseph Roscoe Neeves, 75, of Coatesville, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 under the care of Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit.  He was the husband of Madalin J. (Compton) Neeves, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.  

Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late Lucille (Heath) and Hedrick Trenor Neeves.  He proudly served in the US Marine Corp from 1959 to 1962.  

He worked for Lukens Steel as a Locomotive Mechanic.  He was also a life member of Wagontown Fire Co. Westend Fire Co., Polish American Club, SOAR, NRA, Disabled American Veterans and Christiana American Legion.  

Joseph is survived by two children: Joseph Allen Neeves of Wagontown and Kathy Masterstefone, wife of Robert, of Atglen; two grandchildren, Kryn Kilgore and Ryan Masterstefone; one great granddaughter, Maci Kilgore; and three siblings, Ed Neeves of Cochranville, John Neeves of Pittsburgh and Ruth Ann Townsend of East Petersburg.  He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Lou Trofe.  

At Roscoe's request, the service will be private.

Condolences

As Ruth Ann knows, Roscoe occupied a special place in my heart.  The bullies of the area knew that Roscoe was on our side so they stayed away.
