John J. Saccucci, 93, of East Fallowfield, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.  Born and raised in Modena, he was the son of the late Orazio Saccucci and Assunta Pia Saccucci.

John was a Chester County resident all his life. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. After the war, he was employed by the Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville retiring as a crane operator with 45 years of service.

John enjoyed fishing, he always had the best fishing spots. He loved to plant a garden.  His favorite place to eat was  Dutchway Family Restaurant and Market in Christiana, PA. He loved telling stories from WWII, and growing up in Modena.   He was a Roman Catholic by faith.

He is survived by his companion of 36 years Dolores Brown, they were inseparable.  He is also survived by four children; Joann Saccucci of West Grove, PA, Michael Saccucci and wife Madeline of Ridgefield, CT., Tina Bunting and husband Wendell of Selbyville, DE and Mark Saccucci of West Grove, PA, three grandchildren whom he adored; Mark Saccucci of Baltimore, MD, Julia Saccucci of Port Orange, FL and Michael Saccucci, Ridgefield, CT.  He was preceded in death by three sisters, Yolanda Shaver, Dora Newnam and Nora Fazio.  Also, preceded in death by his beloved dog Jill.

Due to the current restriction on public gatherings, services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Dear Mark, Your dad was such a character. Whenever I was leaving Mary D. Lang and he was sitting on his porch smoking a cigar we had great conversations. He always liked to talk about his fishing. So sorry for your loss.  Elaine Fiore
