Condolences

I'm the youngest daughter of Dorothy Souders who has been your Mom and Dad's friend since their early years. My mom, whom they called "Dot," went to school with Evelyn and graduated together. My mom married Clair Byerly about the time your mom and dad were married. Years later, when my mom married my dad, Howard Walstead, they ended up moving to Wisconsin - dad was in the Air Force at that time. Every trip that mom would make back east, to visit my older sisters in the Quarryville-New Holland area, we would stop to visit your folks. I grew up hearing so many wonderful stories shared between my mom and your parents, sitting in the living room or kitchen of their home. They were so nice to me, too, and I learned a lot, listening to them. With the passing of your mom, only my mom remains of the foursome that, by all accounts, enjoyed their lives and made every moment count. Although not the same as your loss, I hurt, to, at your Mom's passing. My mom still remembers Evelyn and she cried when she heard the news. I cry with you as we deal with the losses of our parents but I want to share the smiles, remembering the joyful reminiscing that these wonderful people shared with each other. I'll remember your dad, and especially your mom, for probably the rest of my life. I'm glad to have known them and be a small part of their lives. Two of my older sisters, Janet and Betty, live in your area and will be attending services on behalf of our family. God bless you and your family.
