Tommy A. Patton, 90, of New Holland, PA, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Zerbe Sisters Nursing and Rehab in Narvon, PA. He was the husband of the late Nancy Lee (Grimes) Patton who passed away in 2023. Born in Honey Brook, PA, he was the son of the late Abraham and Erma (Wilson) Patton.

Tom Patton's baseball career began in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, where he played high school baseball before turning professional. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals after the 1956 season and played in the minor leagues for the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies. Patton's only appearance in Major League Baseball was on April 30, 1957, where he played for the Baltimore Orioles. Despite his brief Major League experience, Patton's career spanned nine seasons, with a total of 670 games played and a batting average of .261. He is remembered for his single game in the majors and his contributions to minor league baseball.

When his baseball career ended due to injuries he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After his military service he returned home and worked as a carpenter and for Pepperidge Farms. He also coached the Morgantown Legion Baseball team. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing and woodworking.

He is survived by a son, Michael A. Patton of Paradise, PA, and a sister, Virginia (Robert) Mountz of State College, PA.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
