Thomas Lee Bonsall

Thomas L. Bonsall, 82, of Coatesville, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (MacDougal) Bonsall, with whom he shared over 59 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Walter and Ethel (Snyder) Bonsall.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. Following his military service, he worked as a building code inspector, a profession he took great pride in.

Tom enjoyed many outdoor hobbies, including motorcycle riding, fishing, and sailing. He also found great pleasure in reading and building model airplanes. Tom and his wife loved to travel together, sharing many wonderful memories on thirteen cruises, including a memorable voyage to Alaska.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Heidi (James) Griest of Highland Township, PA; three grandchildren, James T. Griest of Hearne, TX, Andrew C. (Toni Ewing) Griest of Pottstown, PA, and Samantha T. Griest of Delaware; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Bonsall of Honey Brook, PA.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Tom will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
