Suzanne R. Stapleton

Suzanne R. Stapleton, 82, of Morgantown, PA. passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Gardens at Stevens in Stevens, PA. Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late H. George Ahrens and Ruth Mary Hearn Ahrens.

Suzanne was a graduate of the Penncrest High School. She was employed for many years as a real estate agent and later on she served as a Nurses' Aide.

She lived at Sunny Crest Nursing Home in Morgantown for over 16 years where she participated in many activities including German and Latin language classes, and chair caning classes. She loved stopping for iced coffee whenever she could and she spent many hours reading.

She attended the Conestoga Mennonite Church in Morgantown and she attended the Neighbors Group.

She is survived by two children; Gregory S. Stapleton and wife Dawn of Dyersburg,Tennessee and Debra S. Althouse and husband Pastor M. Scott Althouse of Cochranville, PA, seven grandchildren; Kristin A. Jurich, Josh Althouse, Brad Stapleton, Sean Stapleton, Aaron Stapleton, Katie Stapleton, and Molly Stapleton-Bradley, eight great grandchildren; Chloe Jurich, Ryan Jurich, Asher Jurich, Micah Jurich, Penelope Althouse, Rose Althouse, Paige Stapleton-Bradley and Annabelle Althouse and one brother Charles H. (Butch) Ahrens and wife Anne Marie. She was preceded in death by one son Matthew G. Stapleton and wife Paige Yoder Stapleton and one sister Nancy A. Zhender and husband Fred Zhender.

Private graveside services will be held at the Glen Run Cemetery in Atglen, PA.
