Shirley Ann Daily Simmons, 74, of Parkesburg, entered into rest with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2009.  Shirley was the loving wife of John A. Simmons Sr.  They were married in 1953.

She was the daughter of the late John H. and Pearl Glenn Daily.  She lived in Parkesburg all her life and had worked at the former Penguin Industries in Pomeroy as a shipper in the warehouse, with 25 years of service.  She graduated from Parkesburg High School, class of 1953.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by four children, John A. Simmons Jr. and wife Linda, Sheryl Simmons Bischoff, Jeffery Simmons, and Susan Urban and husband William, all of Parkesburg; nine grandchildren, Ryan and Jason Simmons, Mandy Butler, Shelly, Shannon and Paul Jr. Bischoff, and Sarah and Sadie Simmons; five great-grandchildren, Kevin and Amy Kerr, and Jayden, Cryn and Gaige Simmons; two brothers, Robert Daily and Terry Daily; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Lester Daily, and a sister, Jane Conover.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, with the Rev. Robert Coates officiating, with her viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.  Interment will follow at the Glen Run Cemetery in Atglen.
