Sherman McLucas, Jr., 89, of Christiana, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary K. (Thomas) McLucas who died in 2019. They shared 67 years of marriage together. Born in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late Sherman McLucas, Sr. and Pauline Shanaberger McLucas.
Sherman was a Chester County resident for over 65 years. He was employed most of his life as a truck driver working for various trucking companies. After retirement, he enjoyed driving for the local Amish Community. He was a member of the Downing Hills Mennonite Church, Downingtown, PA.
He is survived by four children: Roy McLucas of Atglen, Joy Green of Honey Brook, Diane Kay Johnni of Hatfield, and Brenda Gay Tomlinson and husband William H. of Parkesburg, eight grandchildren: Elizabeth Johnni, Stephen Johnni, Kimberly Richards, Kelley Tomlinson, Sarah Tomlinson, Rachel McLucas, John-Paul Johnni, and Kassondra McLucas and eight great grandchildren: Nicholas Oliva, Jordan Crabbe, Saydi Syphard, Tiras Crabbe, Darrell Syphard, Eli Johnni, Adelyn Johnni, and Jakob Buel and one sister Patty Ruys of St. Petersburg, FL. He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
Due to the current restriction on public gatherings, services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
