Sana Lee McLaughlin

In loving remembrance, we announce the passing of our mother Sana Lee McLaughlin , who left this world on July 25, 2026 in West Chester at the age of 81 yrs. Sana was born on September 5, 1944, in Coatesville, Pa. and is the daughter of Roy Sharrer Sr. and Ada (Swift) Sharrer.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 40+ years Charles McLaughlin. Together they made their home in Cochranville, Pa.  They enjoyed spending time together, family outings and traveling to many different states and countries.

Sana was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and steadfast friend. Throughout her life, she exemplified unwavering strength and compassion, consistently offering her support to those around her. Her family was her everything. She loved spending time with them both at home and on their many family vacations. 

She is a 1962 graduate of Octorara, played basketball, soft ball and was on a ladies bowling team with longtime friends. She retired from the Postal Service then she became a teacher's aide. She enjoyed spending time with the children she cared for and continues to keep in touch with some of them. Sana looked forward to attending Impact Church on Sundays, catching up with everyone and attending church events. She made friends everywhere she went. She was a very caring person who will be dearly missed by many.

She is survived by her daughters Karen Griffith (Randy) of Willow Street, Kendra Swinehart (Horald Coldiron) of Cochranville, 5 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, a nephew and 2 nieces. Sana’s love and devotion to her daughters and her family was evident to all who knew her. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Sana was predeceased by her sister Katherine Miller, her brother, Roy Sharrer Jr., her son, Charles Robert McLaughlin, and her grandsons, Shawn Hanna and Jeffery Hanna Jr.

Sana’s memory will remain forever alive in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle spirit, nurturing heart, and enduring love created a foundation for her family and friends, shaping cherished memories that will be treasured always.

In this time of loss, her family and all who knew Sana reflect with gratitude on the lessons she imparted upon all who knew her. May her soul rest peacefully with our Lord and her legacy continue to shine through those who loved her.

Sana's family would be honored to have everyone who knew her share their memories and thoughts with them in the guestbook. 

In lieu of flowers her daughters request donations be made to Penn Hospice in her name.
