Obituary

  S. Averetta Bailey, 89, formerly of Atglen, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Ephrata Community Hospital.  

 She was the beloved wife of James H. Bailey, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. 


  Born in Brookville, Pa., he she was the daughter of Quay Hetrick and Lula Wineberg Hetrick.  

  She was a resident of the Ephrata Manor for the past two and a half years.  

  She is survived, in addition to her husband, by two children: Charlotte Y. Boyer, wife of Dr. Jere Boyer, of Canton, Ohio and David H. Bailey, husband of Sandra, of Ephrata, Pa.; and five granddaughters, Angela Musser, wife of Patrick, Rhonda Bailey, Kristin Boyer, Amiee DiStefano, wife of James, and Susanna Braken.  

  She was predeceased by three brothers, Elgie, P. Madison and Ward Hetrick.  

  The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 2 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Glen Run Cemetery of Atglen.  Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held from 1 until 2 PM.  

  In lieu of flowers, donations in Averetta's memory may be made to the Ephrata Manor Benevolent Fund, 99 Bethany Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522.
