Ruth V. Boyden, 97, formerly of West Grove, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Pocopson Home where she had resided since 1996. She was the widow of the late Lester Boyden.

Born in London Grove Twp., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Blanche Lee Alder. Ruth was an area resident all her life. She was formerly employed by Chatham Acres as a nurses' aid retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of Coatesville and Order of The Eastern Star.

Mrs. Boyden is survived by one brother; William Alder of West Grove husband of Elsie Woodward, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:00 am from the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 947 West Main Street, (Haiti) Coatesville, PA followed by interment at Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the church from 9:00 am to the time of the service.
