Obituary

Ruth Ann Biddle, 70, of Coatesville, PA, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2026, in West Chester, PA. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones and covered in prayer. She was the beloved wife of George Wesley Biddle, with whom she had shared 49 beautiful years of marriage. Born on January 26, 1955, in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Luther G. and Juanita G. (Johnson) Smith.

Ruth Ann was a retired LPN who worked at the Coatesville VA Hospital for many years. She was a faithful Christian and member of Freedom Life Church in Atglen, PA. She was a devoted wife and mother, and the best Nana to her precious grandchildren. She forever holds a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew her.

Ruth Ann found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and friends. In her younger years, she enjoyed racing her GTX, Corvette, Chevelle, and Mach 1 Mustang. Hosting annual Super Bowl parties and various other family gatherings, enjoying family game nights, and challenging others in her all-time favorite game, Boggle! Her favorite pastime, and surely most treasured, was family trips to Wildwood, New Jersey. She was fond of relaxing on the balcony with George, enjoying coffee and people-watching when not out on the piers with her grandchildren.

Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Christopher (Erin Gongloff) Biddle of Gap, PA, and Lauren (Biddle) McKinley of Coatesville, grandchildren; Isabella Biddle, Cora McKinley, Chase Biddle, Corrine McKinley, and Lyndon McKinley, all of Gap, and Justina McKinley of Coatesville, brothers, John (Lori) Smith of Christiana, PA, and Luther "George" (Donna) Smith of Narvon, PA. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews, and great & even great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Alice (Smith) Carney of East Earl, PA, Daniel Smith of Morgantown, PA, and Shirley (Smith) Collins of Gap, PA.

While our hearts mourn and we grieve her passing, her fight is finished, and we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the peace of knowing Ruth Ann is now resting in God’s presence. Her legacy lives on through the love she shared and the memories that will forever be held close.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home in Parkesburg, PA, officiated by Pastor Sam Masteller of Freedom Life Church. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be private and at the family's convenience.
