Obituary

Ruth Ann Ayers, born on September 10, 1947, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on April 3, 2026, in Paoli, Pennsylvania. Throughout her life, Ruth Ann was known for her kind and welcoming nature, always making those around her feel at ease with her great sense of humor and warm spirit.

Ruth Ann dedicated much of her career to serving others, notably working as an executive secretary for Safety Kleen, an environmental service company. Her commitment to public service extended beyond her professional career, as she proudly served as a secretary for the borough of Modena and was later an active member of the Borough Council. Her contributions left a lasting impact on her community.

A passionate gardener, Ruth Ann found joy in nurturing her beloved plants, and she cherished the companionship of her fur babies, who brought her much happiness. Her home was a place of comfort and laughter, reflecting the generous and gentle soul she embodied.  She loved the beach and sound of the waves.  She was an avid bowler.  She loved hosting family gatherings. 

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kim Sherman, and her husband Ed; her son, Clayton Ayers III, and his wife Alisha; and her grandchildren Ed Sherman and his fiancée Dominique, Richard Ayers and his fiancée Aspen, Brittany Sim and her husband Andrew, Alissa Faltz and her husband Rashad Faltz, and Shiane Ayers.  Ruth Ann’s joy extended to great-grandchildren Skylar Sherman, Amias Ayers, Saoirse Sim, Remy Faltz, Sylvi Faltz, Sophia McGuoirk (step great-granddaughter), and Marley Sands, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clayton Ayers Jr. whose memory she cherished and loved deeply,  Her Grandson Clayton Ayers IV and her parents Elmer Hilton and Lily Styer

Family and friends are invited to honor Ruth Ann’s life at a viewing on April 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Wilde Funeral Home, located at 434 Main Street in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, with interment to take place at Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, Pennsylvania, at 2:00 PM.

Ruth Ann Ayers’ legacy is one of warmth, dedication, and unwavering kindness. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her and will forever remain in the hearts of her family and community.
