Roger "Jerry" Franklin

Roger “Jerry” Franklin passed away peacefully at home in Cochranville, PA on Friday, September 26, 2025. Son of Roger W. and Dorothy (McCormick) Franklin, Roger was born on August 14, 1942 and was the eldest brother of Ronald, Alan and Linda (Groff).

He graduated class of 1960 from Octorara High School and then served in the United States Air Force through 1964; followed by a long career as an Amtrack electrician.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joanne (Simmons), two sons Donald and wife Catherine (Dillsburg), Matthew and wife Michelle (Avondale) and daughter Anne (Harrisburg), also four grandchildren; Dustin, Emilie, Sean, Jason and four great-grandchildren; Phoebe, Daphne, Jay, Zeke.

Roger was a good husband, father and provider for his family, as well as a proud veteran and avid Ham radio operator.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Fond remembrances will know the way.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cochranville United Methodist Church, 92 Church St., Cochranville, PA 19330, where Roger was a lifelong member.
