Born Monday, June 28, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Samuel D. Brown and Geraldine Demsey Brown.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, William V. York, Sr., and her son, Arthur M. Polk, III.  Mrs. York was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Tabernacle Church in Jasper.

Survivors include, daughters, Barbara Polk Farmer, wife of Timothy Farmer, of Jasper, Ga.; Melody Haas, wife of Gary, of Quarryville, Pa.; daughter-in-law, Ellen Cohen of Chalfont, Pa.; stepsons, William V. York, husband of Bonnie, of Riverside, Ca.; Steven York of Blue Ball, Pa.; stepdaughters, Sue Schnader of New Holland, Pa.; and Linda Holmes of Abbington, Va.; 24 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 7 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg with Fr. Bill Parker officiating.  The viewing will be from 5 PM until 7 PM.  The interment will be held on Monday, December 24th at 10 AM at the Rothsville Cemetery in Lititz.
