Robert W. McKittrick Jr., a devoted family man, seasoned businessman, and respected community member, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 7, 1940, Robert led a life marked by dedication, perseverance, and a deep love for those around him.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963, exemplifying a commitment to duty during a pivotal time in American history. Following his military service, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into owning and operating his own floor contracting and installation business for 37 years. His expertise and work ethic earned him the respect and loyalty of clients, colleagues, and friends alike.
After retiring from his business, Robert continued to contribute to his community through his work with the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District, where he served as a custodian for 17 years until his retirement in 2020. His dedication to creating a clean and safe environment for students and staff reflected his character—steadfast, diligent, and caring.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert had a passion for weight lifting, training, and bodybuilding, pursuits that highlighted his discipline and commitment to personal well-being. Yet, it was his cherished time with family that brought him the greatest joy. He was a beloved husband to Clara-Joyce McKittrick and a proud father to his children Keith McKittrick, Wanda Moleski, and Stacie Murphy.
Robert’s legacy is vividly carried forward by his many grandchildren: Shawn Greco, Morgan Murray, Maddison Enright, Jake Moleski, Teegan Moleski, Dalton Moleski, Eric Murphy, Nicholas Murphy, Miranda Murphy, Timothy Murphy, Robert Murphy, and Kai McKittrick. His presence continues to resonate in the lives of his great-grandchildren—Lucas Charles Murphy, Rocky Jude Murphy, Karson Murray, Melia Murray, Ronan Murray, Oakley Murray, and Maisie Enright—who are a living testament to his enduring spirit.
Throughout his life, Robert W. McKittrick Jr. exemplified the values of hard work, loyalty, and love. He leaves behind not only a substantial familial legacy but also countless memories created with those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all whose lives he touched.
