Robert L. “Bob” Kaiser, age 90, of Mohnton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the Reading Hospital.
Bob was born on November 18, 1935, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. He recently celebrated his 90th birthday with friends and family, marking a meaningful milestone in a life defined by independence, dedication, and achievement.
Bob devoted over 45 years to operating a successful auto repair business, Hefferan and Kaiser, in Delaware County, where his strong work ethic and commitment, led to a thriving enterprise. While he was a private person, he is remembered by many who were once his apprentices in learning the trade of automotive repair.
In addition to his business, Bob’s greatest passion was drag racing. What began as a personal interest in his younger years grew into a remarkable legacy within the NHRA racing community. He was a well-known and respected racing legend, earning one world championship while sponsored by Chevrolet; accomplishments of which he was deeply proud and that evolved into building race engines for others through Bob Kaiser Racing engines. Those engines have powered many successful racing careers. Bob could frequently be seen at his favorite track, Maple Grove Raceway. Bob maintained his NHRA association and relationships with racers up until his death.
Bob was especially proud of his service in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1957 to 1969, where he served as a mechanic maintaining military vehicles and transport operations, a period of his life that remained a lasting source of pride.
Bob will be truly missed by his family, friends, and the racing community.
He is survived by his daughters, Renee S. Donovan (John) and Robyn M. Kaiser, and his grandchildren, Erin Young (Aaron), Neal Donovan, Mason Driebelbis and Maeghan Driebelbis. He was predeceased by his mother, Ida Mae Kaiser, and his siblings, George I. Kaiser and Louise M. Kaiser.
