Ricky L. Kimes, a devoted family man and cherished member of the Coatesville community, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Born on November 22, 1957, in Coatesville, PA, Ricky was a lifelong resident who profoundly impacted those around him through his humor and genuine spirit.
Ricky spent much of his career working as a mill worker at Lukens Steel in Coatesville, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Beyond his professional life, Ricky was a man of many passions. He had a great sense of humor that brightened the days of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Ricky’s love for riding his motorcycle brought him a sense of freedom and joy, while his enthusiasm for baseball, especially the Philadelphia Phillies, reflected his deep-rooted local pride. He was also an avid collector of baseball cards, treasuring the memories and connections each card represented. Ricky’s appreciation for classic American culture was further shown through his fondness for old muscle cars, which he admired for their power and style.
Throughout his life, Ricky valued family deeply. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Anna Kimes; He is survived by his beloved wife, Melody Kimes, who stood by his side with love and companionship. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Robin Kimes, and his brother, Randy Kimes, whose memories continue to hold a special place in his heart.
