Funeral Service
Rebecca W. Semple, affectionately known to all as "Becky," passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, at the age of 97. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul D. Semple, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Born on July 5, 1928, in Steelville, Becky was the daughter of the late Walter H. Wilson and Nora McMillian. Raised on the family farm, she developed a steadfast work ethic from an early age. Becky went on to obtain her associate’s degree from Lancaster School of Business and embarked on a successful career with Lukens Steel as an executive secretary for the sales division, a position she held for over 10 years.
She then accepted a position as a part-time bank teller, while devoting time to her family, with Brandywine Savings and Loan. Upon re-entry to full-time status at Brandywine, she was awarded the position of Branch Manager. At retirement in 1990, Becky had spent over 25 years at Brandywine Savings.
A longtime resident of Second Avenue, Becky was active within the Parkesburg community. A faithful member of Parkesburg Presbyterian Church and a dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteer, she was perhaps best known for leading the Parkesburg Seniors travel for over 25 years. Becky orchestrated dozens of adventures, ranging from cross-country bus tours to international excursions. Traveling was one of her favorite hobbies, and she took pride in ensuring friends and neighbors shared in those experiences.
Beyond her travels, Becky’s greatest joy was the time spent surrounding herself with family and friends. A gifted seamstress, she poured her love into every dress, costume, and quilt she created for those she held dear. She was also known for her exceptional baking—her famous whoopie pies were a must-have at every gathering and left a lasting impression on everyone who tasted them. Whether she was golfing with Paul at Moccasin Run Golf Club, hosting her lively pinochle games, or cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Phillies, Becky’s life was defined by the laughter and companionship she shared with others.
Becky is survived by her loving daughter, Holly Pride, and her husband, Bob, of Gap; her cherished granddaughter, Brittany Pride Sellitto, and her husband, Jon, of Newtown Square; as well as her sister, Joan Smith, and her sister-in-law, Jacqueline Wilson. She was preceded in death by her four siblings: Thelma Wentz, Alma Thomas, Ethel Rea, and Harry K. Wilson.
Service Information: Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA 19365. A viewing will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the formal service beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Glen Run Cemetery, Atglen.
