Randolph J. "Randy" Thompson Sr.

December 6, 1962 — January 13, 2026

Randolph J. "Randy" Thompson Sr.

Randolph James Thompson, Sr. passed away quietly in his sleep on January 13, 2026 in Peach Bottom, PA. He was born in Coatesville, PA on December 6, 1962 to the late Shirley A. (Kauffman) and Raymond H. Thompson. Most of his life was spent in Southeastern, PA, more particularly, Chester and Lancaster Counties. He attended Octorara High School for most of his scholastic career before earning a GED later in life.

Randy was a competitive person and always had a love for sports. As a youth he was an accomplished baseball player known for a very strong arm and a big bat. This was an era in his life he always looked back to fondly. His love of baseball would continue as he was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, even attending two games during the 2008 World Series. His love of competition and sports did not end there. Throughout the course of his life he had interests in wrestling, weight lifting, archery, cycling, and bowling, being gifted in each one. We would also be remiss not to mention his love for the Philadelphia Eagles and NASCAR, spending most Sunday's with a cold beverage yelling "Go Birds!" or cheering for No. 24 Jeff Gordon.

For his life's work, Randy was a Jack of All Trades, although that may imply he was a master off none, which certainly would not be true. There was not a trade Randy did not pick up that he could not preform at the highest level with impeccably professional results. Whether it be automotive, electrical, masonry or carpentry, Randy could do it all, but he was truly gifted and passionate about his finish work and custom kitchens. Randy was proud of his work; many expensive homes in Chester County hold lasting tributes to the work Randy did and will be a silent legacy to what he accomplished.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents and an older brother Raymond, Jr, Affectionately remembered as "Little Ray".

Randy is survived by his three children, Randolph J. Thompson, Jr of Everett, PA, Morgan, wife of Joshua Worstell of York, PA and Nicole Thompson, of Parkesburg, PA. He is also survived by a sister Carol Pletcher, of Gap, PA, a niece, Deana, a nephew, Charlie and 4 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 11:00am at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg with visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wilde Funeral Home to help offset the cost of the funeral.
