Ralph Terry Fairweather

Ralph Terry Fairweather, Jr., 81, of Romansville, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn McCormick Fairweather with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Ralph and Greta Thompson Fairweather. An area resident all his life, he was a 1948 graduate of the Scott High School of Coatesville. He served honorably in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952 aboard the Carrier USS Coral Sea. Terry was employed at the former Coatesville Hospital and later the Brandywine Hospital with the maintenance Dept. retiring with 28 years of service. He was a member of the Downingtown VFW, the USS Coral Sea Assoc., and the West Bradford Fire Company.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children; James C. Fairweather and wife Mary of Romansville, Garry B. Fairweather and wife Elizabeth also of Romansville and Leslie F., wife of Ron Snyder of Lititz, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one cousin Hamilton Duncan of Springfield, VA.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Romansville United Methodist Church, 1859 Strasburg Rd., Coatesville, PA followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the church on Sunday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and also Monday from 1:00 pm to the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the USS Coral Sea CVA-43 Assoc., 651 E. Saginaw Way, Fresno, CA. 93704
