Obituary

Patricia L. Hoffmeier left this world on June 9, 2014, just shy of her 66th birthday. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Patricia’s legacy is one woven into the lives of all who knew her.

Patricia dedicated many years to her career at PNC Bank, where she served as a teller/representative. Her warmth and kindness were felt by all who walked through the bank’s doors, as she brought both professionalism and a personal touch to her work. Education was important to Patricia, who graduated from Octorara High School in 1966 and continued her studies at the Gordon Phillips School of Cosmetology.

Outside of her professional life, Patricia pursued many interests that showcased her creativity and love for life. She found joy in camping, traveling to new places, nurturing her garden, and creating intricate quilts that served as warm embraces to those fortunate enough to receive them. Patricia’s hands were always busy, whether she was in her garden or creating heartfelt gifts for loved ones.

Patricia's proudest accomplishments went beyond her hobbies; she had a heart devoted to service. She volunteered with the Florida Hospital in Orlando, where she lovingly made pillowcases for child patients, bringing comfort to those facing difficult times. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 4480 in Parkesburg and dedicated her time as a Cub Scout Den Mother in the 1970s and as a past member of the PTO, forever impacting the community and the lives of children.

Her family was her greatest treasure. Patricia is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Hoffmeier, and her cherished sons: Ronald Jr., and his wife Karen of Paradise, PA; Michael, and his wife Sheila of Kirkwood, PA; and Steven, and his wife Erica of Atglen, PA. Patricia’s role as a grandmother brought her immense joy, and she adored her grandchildren: Stephanie, Lindsey, Travis, Dalton, and Tyler. Patricia is also survived by her sister, Judy Johnson of Parkesburg, PA, and her brother, William Rynier of Coatesville, PA, along with 17 nephews and nieces who all hold fond memories of their time with her.

Though Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Rynier and Anne Rynier, her spirit continues to live on through her family and friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts. The love and kindness she shared with everyone will be treasured and remembered as a guiding light in their lives.

Memorial services will be private. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition, 2397 Quentin Rd., Suite B, Lebanon, PA 17042 www.pabreastcancer.org
