Mary Jane Swisher

Mary Jane Swisher, 82, of Coatesville, PA, passed away peacefully at her home with family at her side on Monday, October 20, 2025. She was the wife of Barry A. Swisher whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville she was the daughter of the late Harry R. Sr. and Sarah C. (Kelly) Miller. She is survived by her husband, Barry, daughters Theresa Fabrizio (David Sr.) and Tammy Reymos (Jeffery), Grandchildren David Fabrizio Jr. (Mary) and Brooke Reymos. Great grandchildren Meadow Rose Martin and David Fabrizio 3rd. Brother Harry R. Miller Jr. and sister Sandra L. Profeto (Kenneth). Brother-in-laws, Menno R. Swisher and Michael B. Swisher. Loving nieces and nephews who called her "Aunt Maggie".

Mary Jane graduated from Scott High School in Coatesville in 1961. She worked as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone after high school. Mary Jane's claim to fame was her long career with Krapf School Bus Co. ensuring her kids on Bus #41 made it to school safe and on time, except for those occasional stops at McDonalds for breakfast or the Dairy Queen. She then worked as facilities manager for the Chester County Parks and Recreations Department. Receptionist at Escape Salon & Spa.

Mary Jane enjoyed spending time at their beach house in Bayshore, Oceanview De. with her family and friends. Collecting antiques especially her Parkesburg Lamps. Her favorite was making the everyday," honey do list for Barry" and her dedicated passion tending to the "Miller Farm", spending many years with her horses Tennessee, Jake, Butters and Spirit. Mowing the fields and getting her tractor and bush hog stuck in the creek or shearing a pin. 

Mary Jane was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church till its closure then joining St. Joseph's Catholic Church in West End, Order of the Eastern Star, West End Fire Co.#3, American Legion New Holland Post #662 and Parkesburg VFW Post #4480.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at St Joseph Roman Catholic located at 404 Charles Street, Coatesville, PA 19320 with visitation starting at 9:30am followed by a service at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Hibernia Methodist Cemetery in Coatesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation. To make a donation please click HERE.
