Mary J. Hilton

Mary Jane Hilton, 85, of Cochranville, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 8, 2025 with her daughters by her side. She was the wife of the late Ronald D. Hilton who passed away in 2015. They shared over 35 years together in marriage. Born in Butler, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Van Lafayette Matherly and Julia Barlow Price.

Mary was preceded in death by her son Dwight “Van” Cornett, grandsons Anthony Nicholas “Nick” Sloan and Mark Alan “Marky” Mellinger, and sister Alesia Price Twyman.

Mary grew up in Kennett Square, PA and attended Kennett High School. She was employed by the Pocopson Home retiring as a unit clerk after nearly 40 years of service. Mary was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Kennett Square, PA.

She is survived by three children; Lois "Janie" Johnson and husband Leonard of Port Deposit, MD, James M. “Jimmy” Cornett, Jr. and wife Tina of Parkesburg, PA, and Anita L. Cornett and husband Richard Williams of Arkansas, one stepson Rod Rice and wife Brenda of East Earl, PA, six grandchildren (Sarah, Wally, James, Holly, Tyler, Vincent), fourteen great grandchildren (Jay, Zachy, Hailey, Makayla, Marlie, James Jr., Zoey, Jameson, Emma, Harper, Declan, Lilith, Bodhi, Rocky), and one great great grandchild (Derek) all who adored her immensely.

Burial will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Parkinson’s Foundation or a local charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA.
