Mary E. "Betty" Murphy, 90, formerly of Westwood, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the Harrison House of Christiana. She was the widow of the late James R. Murphy.

Born in Westwood, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Stella Davis Brownback. An area resident her entire life, Betty was a graduate of the Coatesville Area High School. She was an avid golfer.

Betty is survived by her son, Robert J. Murphy, husband of Patricia, of Coatesville; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made in Betty's name to the Harrison Senior Living Center, 41 Newport Ave, Christiana, PA 17509.
