Margaret J. "Peg" Evans, 92, of Parkesburg passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. She was the wife of the late George W. Evans who passed away in April. They shared 70 years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis John Mulligan and Charlotte Lucinda Fager Mulligan.
Peg grew up in the Reading area. After attending Central Catholic High School, she continued her education receiving a degree as a registered nurse at St Joseph's School of Nursing, Reading PA . She was employed at the Coatesville VA Medical Center and later she served at the former Coatesville Hospital and Brandywine Hospital.
She was a faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Consolation Church in Parkesburg, where she was a member of the Sodality of Our Lady, Parish Council, and the Bereavement Committee. She got great joy helping with the altar flowers for Christmas and Easter. Peg served on the Parent Teacher Assoc. for C.A.C.E.S. She loved going to Dorney Park on the class trips with her 3 children. In her later years she was an avid gardener and reader. Peg loved to travel with her beloved George.
She is survived by three children; Kathleen Bubernack of Parkesburg, John F. Evans and wife Pauline of Cape May Courthouse, New Jersey and Mary L. Evans of Parkesburg, four grandchildren, Jonathan (Kira), Elizabeth (Michael), Lindsay (Dewayne), Jeremy(Rachel) and four great grandchildren Ivy, Summer, Presley and Drew. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Patricia Steinhauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 W. 2nd Ave., Parkesburg, PA 19365 with visitation at the church starting at 9:30 AM followed by inurnment at Our Lady of the Seven Dolors Cemetery, Parkesburg, PA
