Lorraine L. Smith
Lorraine L. Smith, 87, of Parkesburg, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Neighborhood Hospice Center in West Chester. She was the widow of the late Parvin W. Smith who died last November. Born in Christiana, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Mabel Wright Lawrence.
Lorraine was a 1942 graduate of the Parkesburg High School. After graduation, she was employed for eight years by the Lukens Steel Co. of Coatesville. She later worked at the Chester County Courthouse in the treasury dept. retiring in 1990. Lorraine enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bingo and she loved watching the Lawrence Welk Show. She formerly attended the Parkesburg United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two children; Randolph B. Smith and wife Lori of Kennett Square, Robin S., wife of Terrence Marlowe of Downingtown, and one grandson Nathaniel Marlowe.
Memorial services will be held on Monday evening, March 5, 2012 at 7:00 pm from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 6 to 7:00pm.
