Husband, father, brother, and son, Lester L. Butler, 82, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on July 26, 2025.
He was born on September 20, 1942, in Roaring Spring, PA, to Ruth E Butler and resided in Coatesville, PA for the majority of his life.
Lester graduated from Roaring Spring High School before being drafted into the army and proudly served during the Korean War as a tank driver.
After being discharged and working various jobs, Lester took a position at Reynolds Metals in Downingtown, PA as a press operator. This was a job that he worked at for 35 years, retiring in March 2007.
Outside of his professional life, Lester was an enthusiastic hunter, a hobby that brought him immense joy. He also enjoyed woodworking and has made several pieces of furniture for his family and friends.
He spent many years serving as a Deacon at Hephzibah Baptist Church and volunteered in the grounds and graveyard.
Lester is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia A. Butler; his son, Kenneth L. Butler; his stepson, Daniel P. Rhodes and his sisters, Kathy Culp (Dave), and Joyce Himes (Bill).
A small graveside service to honor Lester’s life will take place at Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery in West Chester, PA, on August 14, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM for close friends and family.
