Joyce S. Flower, a devoted organist and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at her home on June 17, 2026. Born on October 21, 1957, in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, Joyce lived a life marked by kindness, care, and a deep commitment to her faith and family.

For many years, Joyce served as the organist for many churches throughout Chester and Delaware County, where her musical talent and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless congregants. As an accomplished musician, she brought warmth and reverence to every service, enriching the spiritual experience of her community through her artistry and devotion.

She was known to all who knew her as a kind and caring person, whose empathy and generosity extended far beyond the walls of the church. Her unwavering support and love were pillars for her family and friends alike.

Joyce is survived by her loving children: Aurora Cannon of New Holland, Pennsylvania; Theodore Flower of Atglen, Pennsylvania; Timothy Flower and his wife Jennie of Parkesburg, Pennsylvania; her sister, Janice Rohrer, and her husband Scott of Florida. Joyce’s legacy also lives on in her grandchildren—Samuel Cannon, Maxwell Cannon, and Harvey Flower—each a treasured part of her life and memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ethel Steele, her husband of 48 years Jesse Flower III, as well as her brother, Jim Steele Junior. Their memories remain a poignant part of her story.

Throughout her life, Joyce’s proudest accomplishments were rooted in her musical abilities and her nurturing relationship with family. Those who had the honor of knowing her remember a woman of bold strength, boundless kindness, and remarkable talent.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who shared in her journey. Joyce S. Flower leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and music that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.
