Obituary
John J. Battle, 73, of West Bradford, died at his home on Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Frances McGowan Battle with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Chester, he was the son of the late John and Helen Rivan Battle.
John grew up in Chester. He was employed by the Lukens Steel Co. of Coatesville as an inspector.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by five children; Barbara B., wife of Christian Usavage of Parkesburg, John J. Battle of Philadelphia, Glenn J. Battle of Coatesville, Jan Battle and husband Sean Kelley of Coatesville and Elizabeth Hubschmidt of Wilmington, DE, eight grandchildren and two siblings; Charles J. Battle of Orlando, FL and Elaine Waterhouse of Dunn, NC.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 10 to 11am.
