Joan S. Linsinbigler

Joan S. (Bennett) Linsinbigler, 72, of Coatesville, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Joan was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and was a lifelong resident of Chester County. She was the daughter of the late Marie Lewis Criswell and Virgil Bennett. Joan was the wife of the late Robert “Bob” A. Linsinbigler, who passed away in 2023.

Joan was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She found great joy in the simple things in life. She loved spending time by the pool getting the perfect tan, relaxing at the family camper in Rehoboth, attending NASCAR races, thrift store shopping, crafting and listening to country music. Wherever Joan was, you could almost always count on country music playing in the background and her beloved dogs by her side.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Joan adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured every moment she shared with them. Her love, and presence will forever remain a part of their lives.

Joan worked at PJ’s Deli in Pomeroy for more than 20 years, where she became a familiar and beloved face to many area residents. She later worked in hospice care for several years before retiring.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her three brothers, William “Bill” Bennett, Robert “Bobby” Bennett, and Timothy “Timmy” Bennett; and a great-grandson, Ryker Lantz.

Joan is survived by her three children, Robert (Gem) Bennett, Chasity (Shawn) Powell, and Vernon Mattson Jr.; eight grandchildren: Robert (Samantha), Alyssa (Hunter), Paul (Kaitlyn), Alicia (Chase), Ashley (Brandon), Cody, Ryan (Kevin), and Tyler; and her eleven great-grandchildren: Liam, Emma, Noah, Owen, Cadence, Emily, Dane, Jaxton, Maddox, Lawson, and Hayes. She was also eagerly looking forward to welcoming two more great-grandchildren, baby boy Mason and baby girl Layla. In addition Joan is survived by two siblings: Wilma Peirson and Danny Bennett and many nieces and nephews.

Joan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and, most of all, through the family she loved.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt and special thank you to Chester County Penn Medicine Hospice Care for their compassion, friendship, and exceptional care during this difficult time. Your kindness and support meant more to the family than words can express.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chester County Penn Medicine Hospice Care in Joan’s memory.

Interment will be private at a later date by Wilde Funeral Home.
